Must-See Art Guide: London
London is keeping calm and
carrying on. Despite recent postponements and
cancellations of art events around the globe, the city’s
Affordable Art Fair—which recently came under an unfortunate
spotlight when a participating
gallerist disinvited an Asian curator over fears that her presence would make
visitors nervous about coronavirus—plans to proceed as planned this
weekend.
Thus far, museums and galleries
are staying open, too—and there is a lot worth seeing, presuming
you’ve got enough hand sanitizer available and can keep your
distance from other visitors.
The city’s worthy exhibitions
run the gamut from Nahmad Projects’ show “Marie Laurencin,” which
explores the overlooked legacy of the innovative female Cubist
painter, to the first UK screening of Josephine Meckseper’s 2017
film Pellea[s], the story of a doomed love triangle set
against the backdrop of the Trump inauguration.
